Flooded Grain
As a result of the recent flooding there have been instances of stored grain being inundated with floodwater. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) considers flood water to be inherently insanitary and deems grains, oilseeds, and feed ingredients that have been in contact with flood water to be deemed unfit for human consumption and/or animal feed. Therefore, the FDA states that these crops should be disposed of in a manner that ensures they are kept separate from crops that have not been flood damaged to avoid adulterating "clean" crops.
Given this position we cannot accept any flood damaged grain at any of our locations. We ask our customers call the merchandising staff to further discuss any potential flooded grain situations. We are working diligently to understand the scope of this situation and want to do everything in our power to work with our customers.
